Our House Extension Process

The first step to designing your perfect house extension is to contact our team online or by email. We’ll set up an initial design meeting, with no obligation whatsoever, and take it from there.

Site Visit
We’ll visit your property to view your house, understand your vision for the extension and consider how it will interact with the existing building. As well as providing a quick sketch proposal, our team will talk you through the extension process including planning constraints, building regulations any third parties that will need to be involved.

Fully Costed Quote
Once we have an in-depth understanding of your requirements, we’ll put everything in an email so you can make an informed decision. You’ll get a full breakdown of the costs, including planning fees, building regulation fees, and the cost for any required third parties – such as structural engineers, water authorities or energy assessors.

Perfect the Design
After you’ve given us the go-ahead, we’ll return to your property for a detailed, measured survey. You’ll then receive the initial designs, after which you can request as many edits as you want. Put simply, we won’t rest until you’re completely satisfied with the scheme moving forward.

CAD Drawings
We deliver CAD floor plans and elevation drawings, giving you the perfect chance to see the results and request changes. If you want to go one step further, you can opt for CGI and 3D images for a better understanding of what to expect.

Fully Managed Process
We’ll then take care of the entire process to get everything ready for your extension. Planning approval for your householder application typically takes 8 weeks, followed by 2-3 weeks for construction drawings and 2-5 weeks for building regulations approval. By the end of the process, you’ll have everything in place to start work on site.
